What is a Segway?

In 1999, inventor Dean Kamen founded a new company envisoning highly developed, no-emission transportation solutions for humans. Several years later, in 2002 the first production line Segway models were manufactured and sold. Today, the Segway® I 2 is being used by individuals, businesses and public safety groups to transport people using visionary technology with zero harmful emission to our environment. The Segway® I 2 allows you to stand on it’s platform by use of self-leveling gyro’s built inside. By simply shifting your weight forward, backward or from side to side you steer the machine using  leansteer technology. The maximum speed on a Segway® is 12 m.p.h. and we encourage safe and terrain appropriate speeds. Harbor Segs, LLC trained guides will explain to you the safe riding techniques and review with each customer how to ride and the built in safety features found in every Segway®.
